CIPET’s institute to come up in Devanahalli

An Advanced Polymer Design and Development Research Centre of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) will be established on five acres of land in Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar had promised to sanction the CIPET’s research centre in the State during ‘Invest-Karnataka-2016’ Global Investors’ Meet held in February.

The major functions of the proposed institute are: R&D, test, product evaluation and commercialisation, training of graduates and postgraduates.

Speaking to presspersons after a meeting of the State-Level Single-Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) here, Minister for Industries R.V. Deshpande said the institute would be established on five acres of KIADB land allotted for hi-tech, defence, and hardware park, in Devanahalli.
