Kannada film actor Sanjjanaa Galrani is among the several investors who have been duped by a chit fund company in Malleswaram.

The Malleswaram police have registered a First Information Report against the owner of Prasiddhi Chit Fund for duping the actor of ₹28 lakh.

In her complaint, Sanjjanaa has stated that she paid a monthly instalment to the firm as part of an investment in the company for many years. However, since June the company staff had not been contacting her to receive the monthly instalment. She then went to the company’s office to find the reason.

To her shock, she found the office locked up and the firm owner, Mahesh, missing. There are many other chit fund investors who have lost their savings, she said, adding that the cheated investors have approached the Cooperative Department for help.

The police have taken up a cheating case and are investigating.
