An infrastructure firm from China has come forward to partner with the State government for the construction of the six-lane express corridor between Bengaluru and Mysuru, three elevated expressways and a high-speed rail link.

On Thursday, a delegation from Shandong International met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister for Information Roshan Baig. Led by Project Manager Sun Yechang, Project Co-ordinators Sophy Yang and Antony Wang, they made a presentation about the various projects it has executed in China.

Sources said that they discussed the possibility of partnering with the government for infrastructure projects. Sources said that they would meet senior officials to discuss the Rs. 6,000 crore six-lane express corridor. The two sides also discussed the proposed elevated expressways connecting Hebbal to Silk Board (16 km), KR Puram to Goreguntepalya (21 km) and Jnana Bharati to Whitefield (27 km) for which detailed project reports are being prepared by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Sources said, the delegation also broached the curvature problem in the proposed Bengaluru-Mysuru high-speed rail link.

Officials said that trains could reach high speeds only if the curves are removed and tracks are strengthened.

Later, Mr. Baig told reporters that the State government had invited the company to participate in the Global Investors Meet to be held this year.
