CCB arrest man for selling clothes labelled with international brands

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested a 40-year-old man and recovered ready-made garments worth Rs. 7.7 lakh which he is selling it with the logo of international brands.

The accused, identified as B.S. Mallikarjunaiaih, a tailor by profession and native of Tumakuru would purchase local ready-made shirts and trousers and label them with international brands including US Polo, Tommy Hilfiger and Hollister to sell them to ready-made garments shops across Bengaluru for a throwaway price.

Based on a tip-off, a team of Police raided the house and recovered apparels and stickers, label and buttons of reputed brands worth Rs. 7.7 lakh.

The accused has been booked under Copyright Act and remanded to judicial custody.
