Students, taking the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams, embarked on a long life-defining season with painting (optional) for Class 10 and English for Class 12 on Friday. Most said the English paper was easy, but lengthy. “It was fun to write. I usually find English and biology papers easy,” said Abhishek Chande, a Class 12 student from Kendriya Vidyalaya ASC Centre (KV-ASC).

An easy beginning to a lengthy examination process, especially for the Class 12 students who will be writing a series of entrance exams, the English paper also featured contemporary issues, such as the rise of obesity in students.

“I felt comfortable writing this exam, though I was a little nervous. I just started preparing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) a few days ago, as those will be my first shot at competitive entrance exams,” said Karishma Shaikh, also from KV-ASC.
