Although all the districts in the State except Bengaluru have reported cent per cent coverage of all households in the Social and Educational Survey, the next challenge of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission is to see how they could get data from households that enumerators have reported locked or not responded to the survey.

The extended deadline for completing the survey for all districts except Bengaluru ended on Sunday. Shalini Rajneesh, Principal Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department, said that the department was in the processing of compiling the data. “We will now have to brainstorm and find out how to reach out to these homes,” she said.

As per the daily reports, all districts except Udupi, Tumakuru, Vijayapura, and Dakshina Kannada, had shown 100 per cent coverage. However, Ms. Rajneesh clarified that these districts too had completed the survey but had not factored in the locked homes.
