Cash goes missing from BMTC depot

In a burglary at a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus depot (12) in Kengeri, cash of Rs 2.29 lakh has been found missing. The incident came to light when the bus depot manager Ravindra, came to work on Monday.

Kengeri police have booked a case of burglary and are further investigating the case. A senior police official said from preliminary investigation they suspected an insider hand in the burglary.

The official said that it was only on Sunday that the ticket collection money was kept in the depot accounts department in a suitcase, probably known only to an insider. The official said there were no signs of a forced entry. Police are questioning those who stayed in the depot on Sunday night.
