CAR constable dies in hit-and-run

A City Armed Reserve (CAR) constable was killed after his motorcycle was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle in a hit-and-run case on Tumakuru Road in RMC Yard early on Tuesday.

According to the police, constable, Raja Shivappa Yelaval, 35, a resident of Dasarahalli, was returning home at 2.20 a.m. when an unidentified vehicle knocked his bike down. Passersby informed the police who rushed to the spot and shifted him to Sakra World Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Yeshwanthpura traffic police have booked hit-and-run case and are analysing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle.
