Continuing their investigation into the 2014 Burdwan blast case, National Investigation Agency officials (NIA) on Sunday raided a house at Chikkabanavara on the outskirts of the city and recovered two crude bombs.
They had been stored allegedly by Habibur Rahman Sheikh, 28, a member of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), who was arrested from Doddaballapur town in June.

The officials summoned a bomb disposal squad to neutralise and analyse the bombs before taking them into custody.
The NIA team had recently recovered crude bombs from a storm-water drain in Ramanagaram, which were allegedly hidden by Rahman last year.
The officials had taken Rahman to several places in Tamil Nadu where he had stayed while he was on the run. They are probing the possibility of Rahman’s terror activities while he was staying in various places across the country.

Rahman was allegedly involved in preparing a crude bomb at the house of Hasan Choudhari at Khagragarh town in Burdwan in October 2014. The bomb exploded during the process of assembly, killing two people and injuring many.
A case was registered by the local police, which was taken over by the NIA later. Adil Asadullah, one of Rahman’s associates, was arrested in August 2018 from Ramanagaram.
