Inspector-General, BSF, A.K. Sharma, told reporters that the Director-General had rushed to the border, considering the “seriousness of the situation”.

The BSF chief was scheduled to hold a Pension Adalat in Bangalore on Tuesday but was unable to attend the programme.

BSF officials said one BSF jawan, who was injured in the cross-border firing in Samba in Jammu last week, died at a hospital in Delhi while another jawan received bullet injuries on Sunday and is undergoing treatment in hospital.
