Alleging multiple errors in the draft of the Revised Master Plan- 2031 (RMP), members of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Planning Committee (BMPC) have requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to extend the deadline for submission of objections. The deadline for submitting objections is January 23.
A meeting of all the members was convened on Tuesday to discuss the RMP-2031. The meeting, chaired by the chief minister, saw members raise objections citing inaccuracy at many levels. Members, including councillors, MLAs, commissioners of BBMP and BDA, and Mayor R. Sampath Raj, were present at the meeting.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mahadevapura MLA Aravind Limbavali said the map portrays errors in buffer zones, residential layouts and commercial spaces.

“BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) itself has accepted that there are loopholes in the draft. There are roads shown on tank bunds and in residential spaces. Commercial space and residential areas are mixed up. The buffer zones for lakes, which the officials claim is based on NGT orders, is also inaccurate,” Mr. Limbavali said.
In the previous meeting, a section of the members had objected to the fact that the meeting was convened in a hurry without giving ample notice to the members. This time, however, the invite was sent at least four days ago, said some of the members who spoke to The Hindu .
