Biker falls under BMTC bus

Police say he lost control while trying to overtake the bus

BMTC operates 774 AC buses in Bengaluru.

A 24-year-old biker was killed after he lost control of his two-wheeler and came under the wheels of a BMTC bus at K.R. Puram on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the accident took place as he was trying to overtake the bus on B. Narayanapura Road. This comes a day after two PU students were run over by a BMTC bus on Mysuru Road on Tuesday.

The deceased, N. Noushad, was a resident of Kalyan Nagar and worked in an IT firm in Whitefield. According to the police, Noushad was heading to office. Around 8.50 a.m., he was on the B. Narayanapura Road where metro work is on.

“While trying to overtake the bus, which was heading from K.R. Puram to Majestic, from the left side, the bike brushed against a barricade put up for metro work. Noushad lost control and fell under the bus. He died on the spot,” said the police.

Passers-by alerted the police who arrested the driver, Ramegowda, for causing death due to negligence.

Mysuru Road accident: driver arrested

The police on Wednesday arrested Lokesh, driver of the BMTC bus that ran over two pre-university college students on Mysuru Road. Immediately after the accident, Lokesh complained of chest pain and was admitted to a hospital. “After he was discharged, we arrested him. He was produced in court,” said the police.
