Bescom too gears up to meet future demand

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company is also upgrading its network to match the demand in future. Officials say the existing network with proper maintenance will be sufficient to meet the present demand. “We are upgrading meters and implementing network-improvement measures such as pole repair and strengthening, and overhaul of deteriorating stations,” a Bescom official said. The company has planned for capital expenditure investments of Rs. 4,650 crore between 2016 and 2021. Work under this will include replacement of conductors, overhead lines, underground lines and aerial bunched cables.
