The Doddabelavangala police have summoned a doctor of a private hospital following a complaint filed by a 35-year-old woman accusing him of delaying treatment which led to the death of her husband at Nagenahalli in Doddaballapur taluk on Wednesday.

Vijayalakshmi, a home-maker from Nagenahalli, and her husband Ramaiah, 40, were on their way to a relative’s house to distribute invitations for their house-warming ceremony. At Hallipalya village, Mr. Ramaiah was attacked by a swarm of bees whose hive had been disturbed. Mr. Ramaiah was one of the eight critically injured and had to be taken to Saptagiri Hospital at Kanaswadi for treatment.

Ms. Vijayalakshmi alleged that the duty doctor was absent and that the paramedic staff made her husband wait for two hours before advising them to seek treatment at a Nelamangala hospital. His family drove him to Nelamangala, where doctors declared him brought dead.
