BBMP polls: Live streaming used

In a maiden initiative, live streaming from polling stations was used on Saturday for the BBMP elections at the Mahadevapura Constituency in East Bengaluru. Visuals from these booths are being monitored by election officials at an exclusive monitoring station set up at ITI Vidyamandir in Dooravaninagar.

A total a 18 polling stations are being covered by the live streaming system including booths in Marathalli, Hagadur, Doddanekundi, Varthur, Garudacharpalya, Kadugodi and Hoodi.

Termed a ‘pilot project’ by the State Election Commission, the live streaming which is powered by smart lab technology, aims at conducting free and fair polling mainly at sensitive booths.
