Keeping in view the requirement of pedestrians approaching the Namma Metro Stations, an accessibility study will be conducted to improve facilities in at least 10 metro stations that are yet to become operational.
The study to be conducted by the Department of Urban Land Transport (DULT) will cover accessibility and safety issues in the radius of 750 metres from the metro stations and will come out with a developmental plan.
Apart from the accessibility studies at 10 stations that are yet to become operational in Reach 3 and Reach 3A, studies will also be carried out at the Indiranagar station on the M.G. Road –Byappanahalli route.

Reach 3 and 3A connects Sampige Road to Yeshwanthpur, and Yeshwanthpur to Peenya Industrial Area respectively.
“The study will cover problems that pedestrians approaching the metro stations face as well as the issues of safety. People in the vicinity of a metro station are the ones who walk to the station and accessibility issues need to be addressed,” DULT Commissioner V. Manjula told presspersons here on Friday. “Remodelling of the pedestrian facilities in the radius of 750 meters can be taken up, based on the findings of the study,” she added.
As part of the process, Ms. Manjula said two workshops will be held with local people to elicit their comments and feedback.

Tenders for undertaking the study have been finalised for seven stations on Reach 3 and Reach 3A, five are in the process of being finalised, she said, adding that DULT will be undertaking the study for Swastik Metro station.
