A delightful day for toppers

It was celebration time for several CBSE schools in the city, which secured cent per cent results. The excitement doubled for several students from city-based schools, who had clinched high scores.

Most schools not only scored cent per cent results, but also got cent per cent first classes and several distinctions. Although students had said that mathematics paper was tough, teachers said it had not affected scores due to lenient corrections.

Many of these high-flyers attributed their scores to rigorous timetable and meticulous preparation strategy.

Shrikrishna Upadhyaya, a commerce student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jalahalli, who secured 98 per cent in the exam and a centum in economics, seemed extremely confident of making the cut. He aspires to get into the prestigious National Law School and has written the Common Law Admission Test. “I did not have a fixed pattern and I planned everything depending on my mood. My teachers were very helpful and gave me a lot of extra tips and information, which helped me,” he said.

Another student, who obtained high scores in commerce, was Kunal Singhania from Delhi Public School (South). He obtained 96.8 per cent.

“Sample papers and routine class tests helped me build my confidence and also made me understand the concepts better. I always strived to complete my syllabus on time,” he said and is awaiting to get into the University of Bristol in the U.K. for a B.Sc. degree in Economics and Finance.

Another elated student was T.K. Jeshventh Raja of Kendriya Vidyalaya NAL, who scored a remarkable 97.8 per cent in science stream. He said that his high scores could be attributed to his attentiveness in the class and said that his teachers were extremely helpful. He has taken the JEE exam and wants to pursue computer engineering in a top institute.

Another science achiever was Ashwin Ramesh of CMR National Public School, who secured 97.2 per cent. He said he would wake up at 3 a.m. every day to gear up for his board examination. He has got into the Vellore Institute of Technology for mechanical engineering.

Centum in history Anusri Menon, a humanities student from DPS (North), Bengaluru, has not only secured a high score of 96.6 per cent but also bagged a centum in history. She wants to pursue economics, human resources and developmental studies and has applied to various prestigious institutes.
