Suspecting her fidelity, a man strangled his live-in partner to death in Gangammanagudi on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Sumitra, a native of Tumakuru. According to the police Sumitra was married five years ago but started living with Ramegowda after getting separated from her husband.
Ramegowda used to have frequent fights with her suspecting her fidelity. On Wednesday night he strangled her to death over a fight and escaped. The neighbours who noticed Sumitra lying dead informed the police. Based on the complaint the police detained Ramegowda and investigations are on.
