A 35-year-old software engineer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his apartment at Kadugodi on Friday night. He was last seen by his flatmates two days before his body was found, police said.
The deceased, Sohan Haldar, was from New Alipore in Bengal. He had moved to Bengaluru last September. He was working in an IT firm. He had moved into an apartment in Prestige Shantiniketan four months ago.
According to the police, Sohan shared an apartment on the fourth floor with three others, all working in the IT industry.

His friends told the police that they last saw him on Wednesday night after a get-together. “His flatmates said his room was always locked and they assumed that he was at work,” said the police.
Sohan did not report to work on Thursday or Friday.
It was only after a strange odour began emanating from his room that they realised that something was wrong. They broke open the door and found him lying on the floor, said the police. “The body had decomposed. There were no external injuries,” an officer said.

The police have taken his mobile phone and other belongings for analysis. A preliminary investigation revealed that nothing was missing from his room. His parents have been informed.
