Siachen avalanche: three soldiers from Karnataka feared dead

The rescue efforts to locate the bodies of 10 soldiers buried in Siachen glacier after an avalanche continued for the third day without much success.

The Army on Friday released the names of the deceased soldiers from the Madras regiment and officials said that their families had been intimated about the tragedy.

Of the ten soldiers buried in the avalanche at Siachen, three are from Karnataka. Subedar Nagesha T.T. from Tejur village in Hassan District, Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad from Betadur village, Dharwad district, Karnataka, and Sepoy Mahesha PN r/o vill HD Kote, of Mysuru district are those feared dead.
