The Indian community in Parramatta, Australia, has stood by the family of the murdered IT professional Prabha Arun Kumar in solidarity. The community will hold a candlelight vigil and walk on Wednesday to pay her homage.

An invite for the event on Facebook said the community walk would start from Argyle Street, near the Parramatta train station, where Prabha alighted on the day she was killed, to the spot where she was found dead. The walk is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The programme includes recital of religious hymns by those associated with a temple in the area.

Arunesh Seth, one of the organisers of the community walk, has posted that there was tremendous response to the invite, and hoped to see a sea of humanity at the event. Nearly 600 members had confirmed on Facebook their participation in the walk.
