Pedestrian knocked down fatally on Ballari Road

A 50-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run case on the busy Ballari Road near Yelahanka on Tuesday. The police have identified the victim as Murthy, a resident of Yelahanaka. He was working for a travel agency as a guide and was living alone on the premises of Swati travel agency.

According to the police, Murthy was crossing the road at Allalasandra at around 8.30 p.m. when a speeding motorist knocked him down and fled the spot. Murthy sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to NIMHANS, where he succumbed.

The Yelahanka traffic police are investigating.
