Namma Metro services on Purple Line were affected early in the morning on Thursday due to a technical snag. No trains operated between 6 a.m. to 6.25 a.m. There were no passengers on board the trains when the services started and services resumed after a delay of 25 minutes.
“There was a problem with the signaling system, which led to a halt on the entire line (Baiyappanahalli to Mysuru Road). This was rectified and trains started within 25 minutes,” said U.A. Vasanth Rao, Chief Public Relations Officer for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL).
On Wednesday, Namma Metro saw its highest ridership so far with close to 1.97 lakh passengers taking the metro even as the strike by transport unions was called off in the evening.

Most trains are controlled by a central command room with loco pilots stationed in the trains given minor responsibilities.
