February 14, 2017 11:32 pm | Updated 11:33 pm IST - Bengaluru:

A 45-year-old interior decorator was stabbed to death by his son at his house in Subramanya Nagar on Monday.

According to the police, the father — Shivashankar — was an alcoholic and was known to return home late in the night in an inebriated state and fight with his wife.

On Monday, Shivashaknar threw his wife and two sons out of the house and hurled abuses at them. In a fit of rage, his elder son — Revanth — took a knife and stabbed him twice.

They later took him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. “Revanth tried to mislead the doctors saying that Shivashaknar had slipped on the knife and sustained injuries,” said a police officer. However, the hospital alerted the police, who detained the accused. “He confessed to the crime and has been arrested,” said the police. While Revanth is studying commerce in a private college, his younger brother is a PU student.

Youth killed

In another incident, a group of three men stabbed a 24-year-old youth to death in Kamakashipalya on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Sarvan Kumar, a private firm employee. Kumar was at his house in Laggere when around 9 p.m. three men called him out for a talk and stabbed him. The police have taken up a case of murder and efforts are on to nab the three men.
