Hundreds of citizens and Janata Dal (Secular) activists led by the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy took out a massive rally from Chamarajpet to Freedom Park in the city on Friday afternoon, demanding that the government order a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi.
JD(S) workers holding placards raised slogans against the Congress government. A large number of members of Vokkaligara Sangha also participated in the rally.
The rally, which passed through K.R. Road, J.C. Road and K.R. Circle, has disrupted the movement of traffic at major junctions. Earlier, a condolence meeting was held at Vokkaligara Bhavan in the City and leaders of both JD (S) and BJP paid tributes to the departed IAS officer.

Ravi’s mysterious death led to public outrage and the entire Opposition, including the BJP and the JD(S), has been pressing for a CBI probe.
Ravi’s family too refused to accept reports that he had committed suicide, suspecting it to be a case of murder.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on Governor Vajubhai Vala and briefed him about developments related to the IAS officer’s death.

The public outcry against the death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi continued in Kolar district even on sixth day of demise of the officer. The town witnessed different kinds of stirs on Friday. Thousands of students, including large number of girl students, from various colleges in the town on Friday staged a mammoth protest demanding CBI probe into the death of Mr. Ravi.
