The Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha (KPRS) has urged the State government to bring in necessary amendments to the law concerned in order to facilitate people to submit applications again seeking regularisation of bagair hukum land.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, KPRS state vice president G.C. Bayya Reddy said application of around nine lakh families have been rejected, divesting them the land on which they were taking up agricultural activities.
Government should settle the three lakh pending applications seeking regularisation of bagair hukum land, Mr. Reddy said.

The government itself has admitted that 44 percent people are landless in the State. Under such circumstances it was imperative on the part of government to regularise bagair hukum land, he said.
He urged Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa to take initiative in this regard.
KPRS district general secretary T.M. Venkatesh, taluk president N.N. Sriram were present among others.
