42 eye injuries reported across Bengaluru

Twelve persons went to Minto with eye injuries, with three being serious cases

As many as 42 persons, including toddlers and adults, suffered eye injuries during the first two days of Deepavali in the city. Narayana Nethralaya saw the most number of cases, followed by Minto Eye Hospital.

Twelve persons went to Minto with eye injuries, with three being serious cases. A six-year-old boy from Vaddarapalya may lose vision in his left eye, doctors said. He is being treated as an in-patient. The others were treated as outpatients and discharged.

Of the 15 patients who went to different branches of Narayana Nethralaya, 13 were children, one of them a toddler. All those injuries were minor, sources said.

Three patients were treated for burns sustained during the bursting of crackers at the burns ward of Victoria Hospital. They too were treated and discharged.
