Twenty-five activists of the DMK, Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, and a few other organisations tried to block a train at the Pollachi Railway Junction on Friday. They said that it was unfair on the part of the railways to operate the Podanur-Rameswaram train via Palakkad and not via Kinathukadavu.
The railways should operate the train from Podanur via Chettipalayam, Kinathukadavu, Kovilpalayam, and Pollachi. The police foiled the bid.
