A youth, who duped 71 B. Tech graduates with job offers through the Internet, was arrested by the City Police.
Giving details to the media on Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) P. Viswa Prasad said K. Satish Kumar (31) had collected Rs.10.08 lakh from 71 unemployed B. Tech graduates from 2011.
Satish Kumar, a resident of Elamanchili town in the district, had completed his BA in 2004 and went to Hyderabad in search of employment. A stranger in Hyderabad cheated him on pretext of providing him a job. Satish decided to earn easy money by cheating others and posted an online advertisement ‘wanted fresh B. Tech graduates’ in Quikr.com. He gave a mobile number for job seekers to call him for more information.

Satish introduced himself as the HR Manager of various power companies when around 200 B. Tech graduates called him on the phone. He created fake email ids of those companies and asked his clients to send their resumes for employment in those companies.
He also prepared fake appointment letters by visiting the websites of the companies and sent them to 71 unsuspecting youth after they deposited Rs.15,000 each in his bank account.

Satish switched off his mobile phone after the money was deposited into his account. MDVP Jagannadh and K. Upendra, two victims from the city, lodged a complaint at the New Port Police Station on July 12, 2013 and it was subsequently transferred to the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell.
The accused was arrested based on the account details and the ATM card number of the accused while he was withdrawing money from an ATM centre near Suryabaugh in the city on Friday.
Held by Hyderabad police
The DCP said that Sathish Kumar was arrested by the Hyderabad Police in 2011 for duping youth over Internet on the pretext of offering jobs in various companies and got back to his old ways following his release from prison. The police recovered Rs.20,000, two ATM cards and a mobile phone from the accused.
