Youth arrested on rape charge

An 18-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a 22-year-old youth under Bheemunipatnam Police Station limits.

Though the incident occurred on Wednesday evening, it came to light only on Friday morning after the victim’s parents lodged a complaint at the police station.

The victim and the accused K. Yellaji, a painter, were both residents of the same area.

The victim went to the market at Bheemunipatnam on Wednesday evening to buy some provisions. On her way back, Yellaji allegedly offered her a lift on his motorcycle. He then allegedly took her to a secluded place, four-km from Bheemunipatnam, and raped her.
