Ekta Run marks the birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Development is possible only when people work together. Cyclone Hudhud damaged the Visakhapatnam International Airport and thanks to the hard work by everyone it was made operational and commercial flights were resumed within a matter of five days, whereas it took five weeks for flights to be resumed in New Orleans in the USA after it was battered by Hurricane Katrina, Union Minister of Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said.

“Cyclone Hudhud has spared no one. Even I have suffered as tiles have been blown off the roof of my home in Vizianagaram. It will take time for things to return to normal. We all have to work together for it,” the Union Minister said after flagging off Ekta Run organised by the district administration on the Beach Road here.

“As a nation we have a great history. Unfortunately we have a tendency to go into hibernation. We need to remember the contribution of personalities like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and work relentlessly to build our nation,” he said.

The nation-wide celebrations of the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were to inspire the youth to make them participate in the nation- building, he said. “We need to work hard to prove that we are no less than others,” Mr Gajapathi Raju added.
