If you are married, fond of silk robes and know how to carry them off well, here is a chance to walk the ramp, win exciting prizes and grab the-much coveted title ‘Srimathi Silk Mark Vizag 2016’.

In an effort to encourage women to invest in authentic silken weaves and revive traditional wear across generations, Silk Mark Organisation of India, promoted by Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is coming up with a ‘Srimathi Silk Mark Vizag 2016’ contest exclusively crafted for married women for the first time in the city. After conducting similar contests in Hyderabad, the forum is now reaching the port city. “There is an overwhelming response for the annual exhibitions that we have been organising in the city for the last five years.

Since Vizag has a huge market potential, we intend to provide a podium for talented women to exhibit their creative skills and get a chance to become a brand ambassador for the next advertisement campaign of the Silk Mark. Besides, the contest aims at nurturing Indian tradition and culture,” says Y. Srinivasa Rao, senior executive of Central Silk Board.

Apart from having good communication skills and being presentable, contestants have to meet certain parameters, including their awareness level on quality standards of the silken weaves.

Besides the top contestant who wins the coveted title, there will be two runners-up who will walk away with silk saris and gift hampers. Exciting prizes are also in store for the finalists. Interested candidates can send the details that contain their name, address, age and mobile number along with postcard size photographs to hyderabad@silkmarkindia.com before December 31.
