Woman raped at Paderu

A 28-year-old woman was reportedly raped under Paderu Police Station limits in the Agency area of the district.

Police said that the woman separated from her husband and had been staying at Paderu along with her two children.

On Tuesday night, K. Naresh, who runs a tea stall at Paderu, allegedly went to the victim’s house and tried to rape her.

When she resisted, Kiran allegedly beat her with an iron rod and later raped her.

The woman shared the plight with her neighbours and with their support lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday night.

Paderu SI Suryaprakasa Rao said that the victim was sent for medical examination.

A case was registered against the accused under various Sections of the IPC.
