Harita housing project at Madhurawada, Children’s Arena at Siripuram, YSR Park in the heart of the city, Telugu Heritage Centre atop Kailasagiri, and Health Arena at the foothill are some of the VUDA works that have been hanging fire for a long time now.
Officials, at a review by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, committed themselves to meeting the deadlines.
The Harita project, comprising 710 apartments, would be completed by the end of March. Infrastructure like roads would be in place by May, officials said.

District Collector N. Yuvaraj wanted individual allotment to be completed without waiting for allotment of the remaining 16 units.
Of the estimated cost of Rs.35 crore, a sum of Rs.13 crore had already been spent on the YSR Park. For two major sectors of the park, plans were yet to be finalised.
For the Children’s Arena, the roof was estimated to cost Rs.18.6 crore. A new tender had to be issued in accordance with the new standard scheduled rates. It would take nine months for its completion.

For the Telugu Heritage Centre, a PPP project between VUDA and World Telugu Federation, the VUDA’s share was Rs.4.43 crore. It had completed all the civil works and air-conditioning. The work of depicting episodes had been entrusted to noted art director Thota Tarani. So far, 40 episodes had been completed.
The government had given its approval to release Rs.2 crore to the WTF to complete the works. So far, Rs.50 lakh had been released. The project was expected to be completed by June.
Mr. Yuvaraj cautioned against installing a revolving platform in view of maintenance problems.
The Health Arena, where a gym had to be completed and a statue of the Buddha was to be installed, would be ready by May.
