Union Minister of Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu, along with Swarna Bharat Trust and a few philanthropists, will adopt Chepala Uppada, fishermen village, and its hamlets battered by Cyclone Hudhud for development and reconstruction.
During his three-day stay here from Wednesday, he visited the village along with Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and MP K. Haribabu.
Trustee of Swarna Bharat Trust Atluri Ashok assured all help to rebuild the damaged houses, provide community facilities and protected drinking water in the village.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, who took part in the cleaning of Ramakrishna Beach on Friday morning, said permanent measures would be taken to prevent erosion of the beach and he would take up the issue with Environment and Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar.
Positively responding to a suggestion of the Chamber of Commerce that a seminar on making Visakhapatnam a smart city should be held, Mr. Naidu asked them to invite experts from various related fields.
The Union Minister held a review meeting with officials of 22 public sector units and government departments here and with Collectors of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts in Srikakulam.

He visited Sainik School Korukonda, in Vizianagaram district, that suffered a loss of Rs.6 crore and said he would take the issue of release of funds for reconstruction to the notice of the Defence Ministry.
