Trust offers free music classes

Sangeeta Janakulam is inviting applications from the candidates interested in joining free music classes for one-year, two-year, and five-year BA/ diploma course conducted by it.

The charitable trust, run by Carnatic music exponent and guru IVL Sastry has been offering free music classes for students for over three decades, conducts classes every Sunday morning at Raghavendra Swamy Math, Ramnagar.

Interested candidates have to bring in application forms on April 26 at 6.30 a.m. to the math for selection.

The students, who drop out of the classes midway, will have to pay a fine of Rs. 300 and this has to be paid at the time of admission. Students who complete the course will be refunded the security deposit at the time of completion.

Open for all

The programme is open for all and there will be no discrimination on basis of caste or creed. However, the candidates who pass the oral test alone will be admitted to the two-year and five-year courses.

Anyone can join the one-year and music appreciation course.

Applications can be collected from the math or the residence of Akondi Venkat Rao at 49-24-45/1 Ramakrishna Nagar Colony.
