Young and old alike sashayed down the ramp donning traditional wear at CMR Central here on Saturday. The shopping mall wore a festive look as children dressed in coloured ‘ghaghra cholis' and the traditional ‘langa voni' walked the ramp in sync with the latest beats from Telugu and Hindi movies.

The show was conducted by 92.7 Big FM in association with CMR Central and Ramky Group, as part of the 11-day Vinkaya Chavithi celebrations.

Apart from celebrating the occasion with music and fashion, the radio station has taken the occasion to highlight at least one eco-friendly theme a day. Various ideas concerning the degradation of the environment such as ‘save power and save earth' and ‘avoid blasting' are being emphasised.

“We have also designed a theme for each day. Like today was traditional dress and tomorrow it is going to be a group dance show. Monday, being Teacher's Day, the theme is ‘Guru Devo Bhava'. On this day, customers can walk into the shopping mall with their teachers and express the teacher-student relationship,” said the programme manager of 92.7 Big FM.

The show is open to family members and shoppers and there is no age restriction. For participation one can contact: 3927975 or register at the spot. Gifts are being sponsored by the FM group and CMR. The shows are being hosted by 92.7's RJs Veeru Mama and Hasini.
