Top performers at the Employability Enhancement Training Programme (EETP) across the country would be shortlisted and their resumes sent to the telecom companies for recruitment, chief architect of the EETP programme and Chief General Manager of BSNL BRBRA Telecom Training Institute SK Bose said.
The telecom companies, both manufacturing and service providers, require candidates who have good knowledge of the subject and the hands-on experience on latest equipment provided during the AICTE-BSNL programme would give these students an added advantage, he said speaking at a programme organised to hand over certificates to 300 engineering students from 26 colleges in and around Visakhapatnam here on Monday. Certificates were given away by Andhra University Vice Chancellor G S N Raju.
The EETP, a joint venture by BSNL and AICTE, was launched in Visakhapatnam in 2013. The first batch of students graduated in the programme that was conducted along with the engineering degree course of the students. The students were trained in three certification courses comprising seven modules that covered basic telecommunication to latest subjects like mobile technology and IP networking and Cyber Security.

Given the resource constraint only 10 best students from each college were selected for the programme. There was a proposal to allow more students to take up the certification course on payment basis, Mr Bose said.
