Waltair Division of East Coast Railway is now introducing a time table for all goods trains. This is being done for the first time in the zone to improve freight operations and delivery schedule.

As of now, goods trains are kept waiting on busy tracks across India to allow the passenger trains to pass through. This leads to delay in the schedule for goods delivery. In this connection Waltair Division initiated new programme ‘Operation Vikas’ – a time table for goods trains by integrating various goods rakes.

DRM M.S. Mathur unveiled the time table as part of the programme ‘Operation Vikas’. in presence of ADRM Dhanunjaya Rao, Senior Divisional Operations Manager NN Singh and Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operations) B. Ramanna.

The timetable is expected to enhance the capacity augmentation of goods traffic, timely delivery of goods and an increase in the revenue. It would also ensure punctuality of coaching (passenger) trains, according to the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager G. Suneel Kumar.

He presented awards to ‘punctual’ Loco Pilots., who had contributed to the preparation of ‘Opeation Vikas’ for the punctual running of goods trains.
