The Hindu Auto Expo a big draw

Premium cars, newest two-wheelers showcased at exhibition

From the recently-launched Yaris Sedan that comes with seven airbags, four-wheel disc brakes and other safety features to the fuel-efficient Ciaz with the intelligence of smart hybrid and the impressive Rapid along with several premium segment four-wheelers were showcased at the two-day The Hindu Auto Expo – 2018 that kicked off to a grand start at VUDA grounds in MVP Colony in the city on Saturday.

More than 15 automobile dealers have come together to create a win-win situation for them as well as customers at the fourth edition of the fair.

Besides checking the vehicles and the comfort they offer, prospective customers were busy checking for their favourite brands and negotiating the best price with the dealers. “We are planning to buy a four-wheeler. We came to the expo to check new models offered by different companies,” said G. Pardhasardhi, one of the visitors at the venue.

The elegant appearance of the cruiser bikes from US-based firm UM Renegade Commando and Intruder from Suzuki is hard to miss.

Appreciating the thoughtful initiative of The Hindu , Collector Pravin Kumar, who was chief guest at the inaugural, spent a considerable time enjoying a test drive of almost every vehicle he laid his hands on, including Yaris Sedan car and cruiser bikes displayed at the venue.

“During my college days and initial years of service, I used to ride motorbikes but not any more. However, I keep a tab of the latest versions launched in the market as it is one of my areas of interest,” he said, emphasising the importance of adherence to traffic rules.Explaining that it is a time-consuming process to visit various showrooms for customers to select a vehicle, chairman of CREDAI, Andhra Pradesh. K. Subba Raju, who was guest of honour, said the fair helps in going through various brands available in the market at a single venue.

While Nexa is the associate sponsor, TV5 is the television partner. Red FM acted as radio partner for the event. The list of participating brands include Varun Motors Private Limited, Jayabheri Automotives, Jhabakh Auto Pvt Ltd (ISUZU), Leela Krishna Toyota, Mango Hyundai, Mahavir Auto Diagnostics Pvt Ltd (Skoda) and Olive TVS.

The expo will be open at VUDA Grounds, MVP Colony near A.S. Raja College Ground from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
