Telugu Samskrutika Niketanam, designed to highlight the evolution of Telugu culture and heritage, that is coming up on the picturesque Kailasagiri in the city is likely to be ready in a few months.
The project, taken up by the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority in association with the World Telugu Federation, is long overdue. It ought to have been completed in two years when it was launched in 2008.
The project depicts the evolution of Telugu culture from the Satavahana period and has 39 panels. The project has been designed by well-known art director Thota Tharani.

On completion, visitors can access the bilingual audio document to learn the history of Telugu culture.
“The pride of our regional culture and administrative capabilities are depicted well. The institution will become a symbol of pride for the Telugu people across the world. The art gallery would help preserve our values, culture, and traditions for generations to come,” Minister for Information Technology & Communication Ponnala Lakshmaiah said after inspecting the progress of the project on Saturday.
Art work inside the project, part of the civil structure, landscaping, and parking facility, among others, are yet to be completed.

“The project is likely to be ready to receive visitors by January next year,” regional chairman of the WTF and Chairman of the AP Hindi Academy Y. Lakshmi Prasad said.
Chief engineer of VUDA I. Viswanadha Rao, DFO of VUDA B.V.A. Krishna Murthy, executive engineer M. Balarama Raju, and president of Silicon Andhra Anand Kuchibhotla were present.
