Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu has stressed the importance of imbibing value systems and building human resources using technologies as critical for development of successful organisations.

Addressing the inaugural of a workshop on “Empowering HR through technology,” organised by the Indian Society for Training and Development (IDST), here on Friday, he dwelt on the changing scenario of recruitment, training and employment, employee attitudes and commitment levels.

There had been a sea change with professional companies recruiting for managements scouting for talent, scanning prospective employees with data-mining of sortsand using social media too giving a wide choice for identifying right personnel, he said.

Executive Director of Laurus Labs V.V. Ravi Kumar narrated how companies were endeavouring to keep employees motivated. Despite it, if employees were not able to cope, the option is ‘if you don’t love your job, leave.’

ISTD chairman and RINL executive director (personnel) Debasish Ray, who presided, said to be competitive companies needed to have strategic analysis which was not possible without technologies.
