TDP vice president blasts T leaders

Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy warns them against provoking the people of Seemandhra

Shaken by the massive support from the people of Seemandhra region for keeping the State unified, leaders from Telangana area are blowing small incidents out of proportion and provoking Seemandhra people with their statements, TDP’s State vice-president Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy said at a press conference here on Saturday.

He warned senior Minister K. Jana Reddy, MP Ponnam Prabhakar, Swamy Goud and TRS Floor Leader Eetela Rajendra not to provoke Seemandhra people with their statements. He questioned why Telangana employees staged counter protests and dharnas when their counterparts from Andhra area did not oppose or object to the agitation for separate Telangana in the past. He alleged that they were being engineered by Telangana leaders.

When Congress leader Tulasi Reddy was arrested when he approached Telangana agitators at Vidyut Soudha in the past why should Telangana employees object to Seemandhra employees staging a protest against V. Hanumantha Rao in Tirupati on Saturday,? he asked.

At Alipiri it was only a minor incident of taxi drivers observing a bandh and not allowing a taxi carrying Mr. Hanumantha Rao uphill not even knowing that he was in the vehicle. Mr. Hanumantha Rao should not have said that Andhra employees should leave Hyderabad, Mr. Satyanarayana Murthy said.

He objected to TNGOs’ Association president Devi Prasad asking Telangana employees in Andhra area to come back.

There was no such need since Seemandhra people wanted a unified State and Mr. Devi Prasad was not aware that many Telangana employees had settled down in Visakhapatnam after retiring from service and even a Telangana MP G. Vivek has an industry here and many Telangana companies and chit funds have branches here, Mr. Murthy said.

He demanded APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana to quit his party post and said that the Congress leader was day dreaming of becoming Chief Minister of Seemandhra after bifurcation.

Madugula MLA and president of rural TD unit G. Ramanaidu announced that he would go on an indefinite fast from Sunday seeking a unified State. Former corporator G. Amarnath would also join him. President of urban unit V. Ganesh Kumar said a motorcycle rally would be taken out on Monday morning from TDP pylon at Kurmannapalem to Madhurawada via NAD junction, Kancharapalem, Poorna Market, GVMC and Maddilapalem. More than 5,000 bikes would participate and all those having bikes were welcome to take part, he said.
