After weighing various options, TDP has finally decided to go ahead with its sixth Praja Garjana ahead of elections on Wednesday on the Beach Road.

Party president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will address the meeting where former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and four legislators, U.V. Ramana Murthy Raju, M. Srinivasa Rao, Ch. Venkatramaiah and P. Rameshbabu are likely to join the party.

Rajya Sabha member Garikapati Mohana Rao and former MP M. V. V. S. Murthy told reporters here on Monday that Mr. Naidu will arrive from Hyderabad at 12:40 p.m. and will drive to Hotel Daspalla.

He will lead the rally from the hotel to the Beach Road via Ramnagar and Siripuram in an open top jeep and address the meeting in the evening.

Mr. Mohana Rao said each of the garjanas earlier held at Tirupati, Ongole, Tadepalligudem, Vizianagaram and Nellore proved bigger success than the earlier one. It being his second Praja Garjana in Seemandhra people are eagerly waiting for Mr. Naidu to spell out his plans. TDP would endeavour to develop both Seemandhra and Telangana and would come to power in both the States, he asserted.

He said over three lakh people were expected to attend the meeting.

On the outbursts of party Polit Bureau member Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and his reservations about Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao joining the party, he said Mr. Naidu would speak to him and the leader’s son had already met him. As a senior leader his services were valuable and any differences would be sorted out, he asserted.

Mr. Murthy said party nominees for Lok Sabha and the Assembly would be decided depending upon the results of local body elections and on the moves of the other parties. Ward-level leaders were very enthusiastic about the big meeting, he said.

TDP City president Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar said MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu, Durga Prasad and Gadde Babu Rao would be in charge of the dais. Harsh Vardhan decoration from the airport and he himself would oversee the rally with Telugu Yuvatha president L. Krishna and SC Cell in charge Vijay. Over 5,000 would participate in the motorcycle rally to the venue. The TDP flag will be kept flying even on the sea with a boat rally.

Mr. Ramakrishna Prasad said the AU Football grounds, Andhra University School and other sites would be made available for parking.

Earlier in the morning, Opposition leader in the Legislative Council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Mr. Murthy, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao and other leaders visited the Beach Road.

Though Indira Priyadarshini stadium was considered as a venue it was not finalised as it was too small, Mr. Kumar said.
