Stone laid for beach beautification works

Road to be widened with Rs. 65 crore

Giving a fillip to beach beautification and widening of the beach road, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao laid foundation for the two works on Friday.

The beautification of Mangamaripeta, Thotlakonda, Endada and Sagarnagar beaches is being taken up by A P Tourism Development Corporation at an estimate cost of Rs.3.95 crore. The Minister laid the foundation for the four beaches at Thotlakonda beach.

Anakapalle MP Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, District Collector N. Yuvaraj, MLAs V. Ramakrishna Babu and Palla Srinivasa Rao participated. The Minister urged people to cooperate in making Bhimili, which he represents, a model constituency.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao also laid the foundation for four-laning of the beach road between Mangamaripeta and Bhimili at a cost of Rs.65 crore.

Dwelling on the development taken up by the TDP Government, he said the Information Technology Signature Tower at Madhurawada was planned with 20 lakh sft whereas the hi-tech city in Hyderabad was a mere 6 lakh sft. The coming up of international airport at Bhogapuram would lead to establishment of several industries in Bhimili constituency.

He recalled that those losing land for setting up of IIM were given Rs.17 crore towards compensation and wanted people to participate in the development of the region and the State.
