‘StartAP’ to create 100 entrepreneurs by 2020

StartAP, a non-profit organisation formed by a group of entrepreneurs to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh has decided to launch ‘StartAP 100’ programme to mentor and create 100 successful entrepreneurs by 2020.

StartAP CEO Siddharth Marupeddi told The Hindu that they would involve various domain experts in the startup sector to handhold the new ventures to scale up their operations on a fast-track to emerge as highly successful units commercially.

“We want to provide new products to build a stronger ecosystem with the patronage of the State Government by conducting StartAP Fest, StartAP Campus, StartAP Go, StartAP Under 18 and StartAP 100,” he said.

Two episodes of StartAP Fests were conducted in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada to enable the startups to experience application process to be selected and able to pitch their ideas before successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, accelerators and others.

For the first time, to celebrate what it termed ‘Andhrapreneurship’ State level awards will be presented to successful startups in various categories at a function to be held at Sai Priya Resorts here on May 25.

Minister for IT, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh will be the chief guest.

Special Chief Secretary and IT Advisor to Chief Minister J.A. Chowdary will be the chairman of the jury committee.

Nominations

Nominations for the awards can be submitted at www.startapawards.com by May 8.

The prizes include six signature awards, 12 startup awards, six organisational and an equal number of leadership awards.

Mr. Marupeddi said the Andhrapreneur Award will be given to a person and a company who/which has brought pride to Andhra Pradesh.

Best Pitching Award will be given to 100 short-listed startups in addition to student entrepreneur award and separate award for those under 18 years.
