Route march held to mark day against drug abuse

CG holds interaction programme at fishing harbour

New role: Coast Guard personnel campaigning against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

Indian Coast Guard observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, here on Tuesday.

As part of the campaign Coast Guard District Headquarters No.6 (AP) organised a route march near Malkapuram area.

It also conducted a workshop and community interaction programme at Vizag Fishing Harbour for the benefits of the fisherfolk.

Coast Guard personnel also distributed pamphlets highlighting the risks of drug abuse to students near Gitam University and Convent Junction.

A workshop for officers and personnel was also organised at Coast Guard jetty where Principal Medical Officer of ICGS Vigraha and JM Kishore, Deputy Director, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence delivered lectures. Coast Guard officers and men from various ICG ships attended the programme.
