The celebration of harvest season was represented through regional dances by NCC cadets of the Karnataka and Goa directorates.
The interesting feature of the presentation was the ease with which the dancers in colourful attire swirled to the traditional beats with a bunch of artificial flowers donning their crown.
It was a burst of creativity and efflorescence of varied cultures, where the NCC directorates from diverse regions such as North-East, Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Goa, apart from Kerala and Lakshadweep, assembled to exhibit their exceptional talent in dance and music to a packed audience at Samudrika Naval Auditorium.

Thursday evening, the 10 day of the All India Nau-Sainik Camp-2013 (AINSC), started off on a colourful note when cadets regaled the viewers with a beautiful sequence of dance and music. There was minimal use of musical instruments that echoed in tandem with the neat execution of footwork.
While the Gujaratis presented their traditional dance ‘Garba’, intended to invoke Goddess Shakti, girls from Odisha featured Odissi expressing their devotion to Lord Jagannath. The theme of the festivals like Sankranti and Ugadi was well portrayed by the AP Directorate in the form of a folk music. The cultural show drew its curtains with an enthralling Kuchipudi performance by a cadet of Kerala and Lakshadweep directorates.
The brilliant portrayal of regional dance staged by the cadets of the Karnataka and Goa directorates made them grab the first prize in the cultural line. The overall trophy was awarded to Andhra Pradesh. Tamil Nadu proved its skills in the fields of ship modelling and health and hygiene. The Punjab Directorate excelled in firing and Odisha secured the top position in boat-pulling competition. Chief of Staff Officers (Personal and Administration), Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rana, participated as chief guest and gave away the prizes to the cadets.
