East Coast Railway Waltair Division’s mega sports event, the month-long seventh annual inter-departmental Sports Mela is all set to commence on April 1.
Railway employees from different wings participate in 11 events while there are six events for women employees. Divisional Railway Manager and president of Waltair Division’s EC Railway Sports Association Anil Kumar released a poster on the Sports Mela along with Sports Officer of the Division and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Yelvender Yadav. General secretary of ECoRSA B. Appanna Reddy, sports advisor Nageswara Rao and assistant general secretary A.P.V.N.V.R. Murthy were present.
Competitions will be held in football, volleyball, athletics, weightlifting, table tennis, kabaddi, badminton, ball badminton, chess, carrom and cricket for men and carrom, musical chairs, lemon and spoon race, hitting the wicket, speed walking and shotput for women employees.
