Poultry unit inaugurated in Agency village

Paderu ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pattanshetti on Tuesday inaugurated “mother poultry unit” costing ₹2.7 lakh under “Velugu” at Gondipadu in G Madugula mandal.

Matsyadevata self-help group will run the unit. The women get additional income from sale of eggs and can use the eggs as nutritious food.

The PO said the village was also provided vegetable seeds under “Nutri garden” scheme and training in growing them.

The filter bed installed with ₹ 2.7 lakh under “Velugu” provided them protected water, Mr. Pattanshetti said.

Besides, under tribal sub-plan six women have been given an assistance of ₹ 2.2 lakh for income generation. Thirty-four families were provided toilets under MGNREGS.

Velugu APD K Satyam Naidu participated.

Notices issued

Mr Pattanshetti, who made a surprise inspection of the ashram school at Lochali, issued notices to the headmaster for not maintaining the movement register of students and not getting food prepared according to the menu to the deputy warden.
